About the estimates

The probabilities shown by our calculator and tables are statistical model estimates, primarily from the Goldman et al. 2017 counseling model, plus published cohort and cost data. They are not predictions of what will happen for any individual. Real outcomes depend on factors we cannot see — your ovarian reserve, egg and embryo quality, your clinic's specific thaw-survival and live-birth rates, and chance. The model's own authors caution it may overestimate real-world success by roughly 19%, which is why we always present a range and a conservative figure.
